Oh, Baby

Just a quick thought about the royal baby...OVEREXPOSED!!!

Don't get me wrong...I love babies. But why are we so caught up in this baby with Prince William and Princess Kate? Didn't we fight a war so we wouldn't HAVE to think about the goings-on of Great Britain anymore?

That's like a woman being assaulted by a man who always abused her, and then she keeps up with all the details of his wedding years later. That's retarded.

Obama's Comments & the Response by the Media

Sitting here watching the President Obama press conference, I couldn't help but have a sense of pride in that our president took his time before he begin to address publicly what his thoughts were on the Trayvon Martin situation. I was impressed with the fact that he seemed to want to unite Americans rather than make this a race issue. Of course, black people say that President Obama should do the right thing as a black man in speak on the situation involving a young black man. But the reality that most black people in America fail to understand is that President Obama is EVERYONE'S president...not just president of black folks.

The President did, however, address race in a way that I thought was very positive. Rather than focus on racial profiling, he instead opted to focus more on reaching out to young African American men. Obama said we need to help them realize that this is their country... and that, as the president said, "their country cares about them."

President Obama's press conference left me with a great sense of pride regarding America. Alas, it was short lived. I had next turned to Fox News to see the interview with Robert Zimmerman Jr and his response to Obama's remarks. To his credit, Zimmerman Jr kept his responses very, very positive. But as is usually the case, Fox News once again seized the opportunity to display the organization's thinly-veiled veiled hatred of President Barack Obama.

How, you may ask? At one point during the interview  Robert Zimmerman Jr suggested that we should reach out and help all disadvantage youths in America. Being the opportunistic organization that it is, Fox News pointed out that Obama mentioned specifically reaching out to African American young men, and asked the question of whether or not Barack Obama should have included all youth instead of just saying that he needed to reach out to african-americans.

Once again to his credit, Zimmerman Jr kept his response very positive, and applauded President Obama for thinking about the fact that the youth need to be encouraged. It does, however, reinforce a very interesting point that was made earlier by Charles Barkley...the media is not innocent. Fox News certainly takes the lead in this category, as it has during the whole Obama administration sought to incite fear, anger, and hatred in the hearts of millions of Americans by indirectly blaming everything on Barack Obama. Remember, this is the same news organization that has openly and  repeatedly called Barack Obama a "tyrant," and went as far as to suggest that Obama was behind last year's meteor fragments hitting Russia.

I could go on and on about how Fox News continues to make a mockery of anything regarding responsible journalism, but I'll stop here. You get the idea...Obama has spoken, and now the country is supporting him in dealing with the Trayvon Martin tragedy. This includes the Zimmerman family. Unfortunately,  this does not include Fox News...

...but then again, I'm not really surprised.

Welcome to My Blog!

This is the new blog spot for Mr. Revere. You'll see a lot more from me here, and not just from my laptop. You'll probably see a lot of mobile posts, being that I have the app, and I like to write a bit.

Sooo...get ready to peer into the Mind of Paul Revere. I hope to make you laugh, cry, and think. Most of all, I hope to encourage your hearts and minds...or at least challenge your paradigms.

Love,
Paul
